But John, I have no content for my social media posts… I’m gonna call bullshit and tell you I’ve already read it.
You might be scratching your head and thinking is this guy crazy, and no, in fact I’m not.
Look, when I first decided to get on Instagram and create posts, and decided to start a blog to build my brand, I had the same problem that you do, and that’s asking myself what the hell do I write about that people will actually listen to?
If you have ever wondered how to find the best content like the influencers on Instagram, you are not alone. I was in the same place.
While its true finding good, relevant post content can be challenging, it doesn’t have to be. Read on to find out this simple solution that anyone can use for any niche.
Why content in posts matter
You are trying in a small amount of space to grab the attention of your readers and give them something that they will want to come back to because your ideas resonate with your followers. If you are not posting things that are imaginative and relevant, and make your followers want to know more, you are wasting your time.
Writing great posts are a critical platform for businesses that want to craft a well-rounded strategy to build a great relationship with their readers. This is part of your voice in your company.
Instagram stands out as one of the best ways to communicate with your target audience and gives you a means to visually and mentally stimulate your audience by the posts you create. The more relevant your posts, the more people will be attracted to following you, thereby moving them from casual readers to paying customers.
If you are writing your posts well, they will want to follow you, share your posts, and be there to stay.
My business is teaching people how to start either home-based or online businesses to get away from the daily grind of going to a normal job that you hate. After scratching my head for a while, I had never created posts for Instagram with the goal in mind to attract potential clients, I came upon the answer.
Instagram will provide you all the information you need and all you have to do is look at it for the types of posts that people want to read. The easiest way that you can find what is hot, is to go search for whatever it is that you want to write about, and look for the top people and posts regarding your topic.
Let’s say for instance that you want to sell website design, jump onto Instagram and type website design into the search bar. When you get to the first screen you will see something like this.
The first hashtag is for website design and you can see there are 1.3 million posts. This is where you can find a goldmine of information to post about. Click on this hashtag and you will see all the posts for website design and you will want to start looking through them to see what the top posts are talking about.
You will notice that people are not throwing out “buy, buy, buy” posts, rather they are posting something of value. On the other hand, the posts that are great have some sort of call to action on them like asking people to share or like the post, asking them to follow their Instagram account, checkout a great website or video, and of course periodically they should make a post telling their followers to check out their offering.
To get things that you can post about, you can go through these posts and get ideas on what to write about and you can even go as far as to write a similar post as to what you are reading, you must put your own spin on it though and not copy it verbatim.
One of my favorite things to do is to actually find an influencer, which is a very popular person or business on Instagram, that is in my niche and go through their posts and mimic what they are saying and doing on their accounts.
You can get all the information you need to create hundreds of posts by using this method, and you will never run out of material.
A couple of other suggestions to build your following and brand is one, you must be consistent in your posting on Instagram or any other social media site you’re marketing on. This means that if you are going to post on Mondays and Wednesdays, always post on Mondays and Wednesdays. When you get followers on social media networks, they will expect to see your great content at the intervals you normally post.
Secondly, you should be posting on your social media accounts at least twice a week to be noticed. If you are only posting once a week or less, your followers will not get to know you because they will not see you much.
When I jumped on Instagram and started this venture, my schedule was to make Instagram posts on Monday and Friday, post a blog on Wednesday, and post a video on Tuesday, and post a podcast on Thursday. The blog, videos, and podcasts would be promoted through a post on Instagram, so Monday through Friday one thing was being thrown out each day.
What I will last say about posting on Instagram is that you should be way ahead of the timeline when it comes to creating your content. This means that you should have all your content prepared at least a month in advance of it being posted.
Once again, when I started this company and decided to use Instagram as a means to promote my brand, I actually created four months’ worth of content including blogs, Instagram posts, and videos to set myself up for success.
